Lately I notice more and more how many people tell me they are feeling “off”. They can’t put their finger on it, but they are out of the swing of things, and feel like – and everyone’s had it once in a while – you just can get your brain & body to act together.  

Why must we make our existence so complicated?

Complex, yes… complicated, no.

In todays’ video I give you the secret to guaranteed, “I feel forking awesomesauce-ness” with a simple tip you can put into practise using your phone.

Life becomes more simple if you realize it is a complex series of systems all working together. Like cleaning your teeth is a system - you don’t think about it each time you do it. When you start to recognize that you also have a system or pattern you play out when you are happy or feeling good and when you understand your system and how you can improve it, I call that ‘happiness insurance’.

Think about the last time you felt totally happy or alive and radiant, then ask yourself ‘what was I doing right before that?’ Write the answer down and add to this list when you are feeling awesome. The hardest time to be happy is when you are not feeling it and at these time it is hard to recall what makes you feel happy - this is where your list can help.

Today's episode is all about systems. System; a set of of connected things or parts forming a complex whole, in particular, not only do our lives rotate through a series of systems on a daily basis, such as the roads that you drive on, the businesses that you go to to get your morning coffee or your early juice. The buses that you ride. Our body is made up of systems too. We are as a whole person, complex combination of systems which allows us to live without having to work at it, the - 'not having to work at it' part is the most important here. When part of our system fails we end up going to hospital in crisis mode and the rest of our body doesn't necessarily work. And this is kind of true for the rest of your life. When the system fails, everything feels like it's in a crisis.

You're already running systems for every single thing that you do. And my question to you is, are they working? Do you lose your belongings a lot? System miscommunication. Are you always running late? System breakdown. Are you always run down, sick tired? System breakdown.

A lot of the videos I share on this blog are smart systems, so you can ensure that you can repeat your success, again and again, and I'll say it again, everything that you're doing, is already part of a system. Now it's just being aware of that system, understanding and asking yourself, Is it effective or not and how can I repeat it so that it works for me, for example, do you know that you actually brush your teeth in the same way every single day. And you do the same thing when you're washing your body in the shower, when you're doing your hair, when you're making a sandwich, and you even have a pattern or a system for feeling happy, or feeling sad.

Life becomes really simple when you recognize it as just a complex series of systems, all working together, understanding and utilizing these systems can effectively change your life. But for today, let's just focus on being happy and feeling good in general, every day. When you recognize that you have a system or a pattern that you play out every single time you feel happy, whether it's playing out in the best way that it can currently or not, you can actually start to understand that system.

When you understand your system and how you can improve it, I call that happiness insurance. What you're going to do now is get yourself a pen and a piece of paper, or I like to use the notes section on my phone. I want you to think of the last time that you felt totally alive and happy and just fulfilled and radiant, or just felt awesome. And then I want you to ask yourself, what was I doing right before, whatever the answer is, write it down. I want you to come up with at least five. The trick now is to carry this list around with you, that's why I like to keep it on my phone, and every time you're feeling just a little bit awesome, just write down what you're doing.

The hardest time to do happy is when you're not feeling it. And when you're not feeling it, that's the hardest time to remember what makes you feel happy. So this list becomes your insurance. In fact, this list will become so awesome that anytime you're just not feeling good in general, you can go back to the list, pick something on it, pick anything on it, do it, and you'll automatically feel happy again.
