Being Afraid to Ask

No matter how confident or successful we are, there’s often one area in life where we’re afraid to ask for what we want….

…to ask for what we actually want. It could be asking for a raise, pitching a sale or telling our partner what we want in the bedroom.  For some reason, we tell ourselves that we can’t have it all and the idea of asking for what we really want triggers all sorts of uncomfortable feelings.

People don’t know what you want. If you don’t ask for it, people don’t get the joy of giving you exactly what you want. So many people end up resentful in a relationship because they are not willing to ask for what they want.

Asking for exactly what you want is something have to teach ourselves.

In this episode, I share some of the philosophies I’ve learned on…

…why we’re afraid,
…how you can overcome your fear and
…being inspired to really ask for what you want.

I talk about being willing to hear a no, being bold enough to ask one extra question and why being too considerate actually robs you of liberation. If you hear a no, don’t make it about you, be willing to ask again… and again,

I believe our desires are meant for us.  They are in our hearts for a purpose and we should be unapologetic that they exist.  When you start giving yourself permission to have what you want you’ll begin to understand that the limits of your capacity are so much further away than what you think they are.

You just have to be willing to be uncomfortable.  You just have to be willing to ask.
